BEAUTY Queen Laura Zuniga's fall from grace is complete.
Sentenced to 40 days in jail after she was arrested with an alleged Ciudad Juarez drug cartel leader and a group of heavily-armed men, the Mexican beauty queen has now lost her title to a glamorous rival, Brazilian model Vivian Noronha.Zuniga, 23, was stripped of her title this week after being jailed for crimes relating to drug trafficking and transporting weapons in mexico.Gallery: From beauty queen to drug queenShe was picked up at a military checkpoint in the western state of Jalisco last month while travelling with seven armed men in two vehicles carrying $US100,000 in cash, government sources said. Zuniga was picked up along with boyfriend Angel Orlando Garcia Urquizar, one of the leaders of the Juarez Cartel.The Juarez cartel is believed to be responsible for smuggling up to 20 per cent of all the cocaine consumed in the United States, for annual profits of $US660 million. Zuniga was crowned Miss Sinaloa in July, and also won the Queen of Hispanic America contest in November in Bolivia. At the time of the arrests, authorities said they found two AR-15 rifles, three pistols, 633 cartridges and 16 mobile phones along with the cash in the vehicles. Garcia Urquizar's brother Ricardo, known as 'The Doctor', was also a top Juarez drug cartel operative until his arrest in 2005. The group was "just coming to town. They came from different places and the young woman said that the money was for making purchases in Bolivia and Colombia," said Jalisco public security director Alejandro Solorio at the time of the arrest. Zuniga is originally from Culiacan, the capital of Sinaloa, birthplace of one of Mexico's most powerful cartels. According to La Jornada, a leading Mexican newspaper, more than a dozen lawyers have volunteered to defend her. 'Promociones Gloria, the company that created and is responsible for (the pageant) has dismissed Laura Zuniga as the official Hispanic America Queen 2008,' the organization said in a statement, according to La Paz daily La Razon. She was to compete in the Miss International pageant next year. Mexican President Felipe Calderon is battling powerful cartels in his country with soldiers and federal police.

Sustituyen a la Reina de Reinas de El Salvador
Anita Villegas, elegida Reina de Reinas El Salvador 2008, fue reemplazada por la candidata tecleña Sonia Yesenia Cruz, debido algunos fallos de conducta presentados por la soberana.
"He tomado la decisión de sustituir a Anita Villegas con Sonia Cruz por la falta de disciplina, inconformidad y falta de comunicación", aseveró muy decepcionado el productor del certamen de belleza Bedi Orellana.
A lo cual agregó: "No es necesario que la joven que lleve la corona pida permiso para asistir a determinado evento, pero sí debe al menos comunicarme a qué evento va, para mantener los códigos del certamen y ella no cumplió con esa norma".
Sin embargo, Orellana aseguró que Cruz posee todas las características necesarias para portar la corona y dejar en alto el nombre de El Salvador.

La nueva soberana del café tal como lo predijimos en esta página, es la candidata Colombiana, fue la carta bajo la manga (el dark horse). Ella resultó la ganadora dejando en segundo lugar a la hermosísima favorita de la mayoría, España.
En todo caso a la representante de España le toco la pregunta más ridícula de la noche; con esa clase de pregunta no daba para mucho contestar, aunque ella salió bien librada con la respuesta al parecer a los jueces les gusto más la respuesta de la chica que estaba en casa. Qué mal sabor nos queda después que gana una chica en casa, siempre la decisión es dudosa, pero al fin y al cabo Colombia hizo un buen trabajo; ella no es una chica de bello rostro, pero sí tiene otros atributos que le adjudicaron la corona.
Entre tanto, hubo clasificaciones injustas como la de la señorita Canadá, cuando todo el mundo daba por clasificada a la bellísima señorita Costa Rica, quien tenia un bello cuerpo y hermoso rostro, ¿que más querían los jueces?
La segunda gran injusticia fue el haber hecho parte de el top 5 a la señorita Dominicana ya que la señorita Polonia era mucho más agraciada, de un bello semblante; pero así se dieron las cosas.
En cuanto a lo nacional; Como nos lo supusimos, Laura no clasificó por su enorme inseguridad. Ella se atuvo a su belleza física, pero en un concurso de belleza no sólo esto cuenta; la actitud se lleva por mucho a la belleza. Ella lució un vestido hermoso, pero no fue suficiente para lograr ser parte del top 10.
Empezamos el año con la “PATA” izquierda, ojala las cosas mejoren de aquí en adelante; el siguiente concurso será Nuestra Belleza Universo 2009 haber que nuevas sorpresas nos trae TCS, esperemos que sean gratas y agradables.
